Hafgufa
IMPERIAL STOUT
This top-fermented beer is one of the first beers we brewed on home brew scale in the summer of 2015 and it is still one of our favorites. Hafgufa is a heavy, dark beer with a distinct character, in which flavors of coffee and dark chocolate stand out. This beer can be stored for a long time and in fact will only get better with time.
The name is inspired by the Hafgufa, a mythological sea monster described in the Icelandic Saga of Örvar-Oddr from the 14th century:
"It is the nature of the Hafgufa to swallow men and ships, and even whales and everything else within its reach."
A fitting name for such a bold beer!

BARREL-AGED HAFGUFA
Rye of Sunshine
RYE GOLDEN ALE
This top-fermented beer is based on the sparkling and dinner ales brewed in England at the end of the 19th century. These medium-bodied beers were intended to quench thirst. We've added 10% rye to the grain bill to give it a slightly spicy twist. The beer name is a pun on Ray of Sunshine and Rye.

Rye Catcher
IMPERIAL RYE IPA
This top-fermented beer gets its inspiration from the west coast style IPA, having a crisp, sweet, malty backbone followed by a dry & bitter finish. We added 20% rye to the grain bill to give it a spicy twist. The name is inspired by the poem of Robert Burns that led to arguably one of the most popular books of the last century The Catcher in the Rye.
